How Orthotics Work

Orthotics are custom made shoe inserts which help control abnormal foot motion and position. They provide stability for the foot and correct injury causing imbalances.

Orthotics can be made hundreds of different ways and will range from soft cushioning devices to rigid.

At TippToes Podiatry/Chiropody Clinic we pride ourselves on individually prescribing your orthoses depending on your diagnosis and footwear.

What are orthotics?

Orthotics are inserts in your shoes that ensure good posture of the feet and body. Orthotics are custom made from a cast of your feet and prescribed specifically according to the condition that you have and the footwear that you are using. Orthotics give excellent results for most musculoskeletal complaints and injuries. Orthotics are not always made of hard plastic. They can be made from many different materials in many different ways to ensure they meet your needs and you are comfortable.
