Arm Slings

Sizing Instructions:

All shoulder immobilizers and supports use either chest circumference or forearm length for sizing

Chest Circumference:  Female: Measure circumference of the chest just below the bust-line.   Male: Measure circumference of the chest at its widest point.

Forearm Length:  Measure from the lateral epicodyle to the fifth metacarpo phalangeal joint.

FITTING

When fitting "sling type" immobilizers, caution should be taken to not make the strap adjustments too short, forcing the shoulder into a shrugged position.  The should should be maintained in a neutral position and relaxed into the sling portion of the immobilizer.  A properly fitted sling should be long enough to fully support the hand and wrist but not cover the fingers.
